jsterrel@unc.edu BioI am, first and foremost, a consummate geek. It should tell you something about me that I am proud of that fact. I am generally introverted, although I hide it well sometimes. I love listening to music, especially that which conveys emotion well. Although it sounds cheesy, I'll say it anyway: I love life and experiencing all it has to offer. Like a good Chocolate Stout or Pumpkin Ale.
I currently am a grad student in Computer Science at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. After being here for a year, I have totally fallen in love with the wonderfully social department, the university, and Chapel Hill. I graduated from the University of Arkansas in Computer Engineering in '04, and from the Arkansas School of Mathematics and Sciences (a public, residential high school) in '00. (I started my geekdom early.)
I find great pleasure in conversing with my computer in something more powerful than the point-and-grunt pidgin English of graphical user interfaces. I'm talking about my love of the command line here, and specifically Linux & Vim. Cf. Master Foo Discourses on the Graphical User Interface.
